Ongoing Events

The Meade County Board of Elections will hold their regular monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at 9:00 AM in the Meade County Clerk's office. The following dates are the days they will be meeting in 2017: February 14, March 14, April 11, May 9, June 13, July 11, August 8, September 12, October 10, November 14, December 12

Grief Support Group on Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. in Room 203 at Brandenburg United Methodist Church. Group is confidential, free and open to all adults. Please call 270-422-2810 for more information.

There will be several car shows at Burger King in Corydon. Dates are April 28th, May 26th, June 23rd, July 28th, August 25th, September 29th and October 27th. There is no entry fee but they will be accepting donations for Crusade for Children. 

Camp Salem will be having cleanup days every Saturday in April starting at 9am. If you have questions or would like to help contact Tonya Wigglesworth at 270-828-2084. 

Every Thursday in April (6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th) KEHA and Meade County Extension Homemakers are participating in the ACWW's "Women Walk the World" celebration, with a Walk the Falls event. The events will be held at 10:00 am at Buttermilk Feels. Meet by the Gazebo in downtown Brandenburg.

Harrison County Farmer's Market will be open every Saturday morning from 8 am until 12 noon from April 22nd until October 28th. The market is located in the God's Church parking lot by Sears and Dollar General in Corydon, Indiana. The market will feature fresh fruits and vegetables, frozen beef and pork cuts, local honey, farm fresh eggs, plants, flowers soaps, lotions and crafts. 

Highway 79 in Irvington will be closed between Woodlawn and Maple Streets for 3 weeks beginning Monday April 17th detour signs will be in place. 

Corydon Central High School and Junior High & South Central High School and Middle School present Flapper! A Madcap Musical Comedy, Friday April 28 at 7:30pm, Saturday April 29 at 7:30pm and Sunday, April 30 at 2:30 pm at the Corydon Central High School Auditorium. General Admission is $8.00. 

Meade County High School Chorus is proud to present Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella. Performances will be May 11, 12 and 13 starting at 7:00 at the MCHS auditorium. All tickets are $10. 

The Meade County Greenwave Basketball Camp will be June 12th - 16th in the Meade County High School Gym from 9-2 each day. The camp is for kids in grade 1 through 9. $100 per camper, $90 per camper if registered by May 15th. Fee includes camp, shirt and meals. For more information call 422-7520.

The Fort Knox Community Information Exchange will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, April 25th in the Signature Room at the Saber and Quill.

There will be a Meade County Sportsman Banquet Thursday April 27 at the Meade County Farm Bureau Building. Doors open at 6:00 EST. Dinner served at 7:00. Tickets are $30 for adults, $15 for children 15 and under. Entertainment provided by Josh Mitcham. 

April 29th, 2017

Corydon Elementary School PTO will be hosting a Color-A-Thon Saturday, April 29th at 10:00 am at Corydon Elementary School. The Color-A-Thon includes a one or three mile un-timed walk or run where participants will be blasted with environmentally friendly color. Open to all community participants. There will be a Chicken Noodle Dinner featuring chicken and homemade noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls and desserts Sunday, April 30th from 11am until 1pm at Old Capital United Methodist Church on Heidelburg Road in Corydon, IN. All proceeds go towards the summer youth-mission trip to Detroit.

The 12th Annual Run For The Red will be held Saturday, May 13th, 2017. Registration starts at 7:30 AM. The 5K/10K run-walk will be at 8:30 AM. Registration for the kids run 50 and 100 yard dash starts at 7:30 AM and the Kids Run starts at 9:30 AM.

"Beast Mode: Kentucky Classic 2017" will be held May 13th 2017 at North Hardin High School. All clubs, schools and unattached athletes are welcome! Online registration closes 5/9/17 at 11:59 PM (Central Time) There will be no on site registration the day of the meet.

Harrison County Hospital is offering free sports physicals for student athletes entering grades 7 thru 12, who are residents of Harrison or Crawford County. Physicals will be held for athletes on Tuesday, May 16 at 5:30 pm, by appointment only. 

May 20th, 2017

Ekron VFD & Auxilary presents 2017 Ekron Fire Fest Car & Bike Show Saturday May 20 2017 from 11 am until 3 pm. The show will be at Ekron Elementary School, 2500 Haysville Road in Ekron. Contact 270-300-8353 (text or call) or email ekronvfd.auxilary@gmail.com for more information.

The Fire Fest Pageant will be held May 20th at the Ekron Fire and Rescue Station 1, 204 Larry Berry Dr. in Ekron. Pageant starts at 2pm EST. Ages 0-13 years. Hooray for Heroes will be held Saturday, May 20th from 11am until 4pm in the adjoining parking lots of Stithton Baptist Church and Radcliff Wal-Mart Supercenter in Radcliff, KY. Local businesses and civic groups set up booths with games and prizes for children as well as small giveaways. Free entertainment from 11am until 4pm. Everything is free for military honorees and their families. 

Kentucky Wheels Motorcycle Group will be having a May Fun Ride May 20th. Sign in begins at 11:00 am. Kick stands up at 12:00 noon. This will be held at Open Road USA in Elizabethtown. $10 includes poker hand/food. All ride proceeds will benefit the folllowing: Back Pack Program, Meade Co. Angel Tree Ministry, and Shop with a Cop.

Biker Sunday will be held May 21st at Glad Tidings Christian Center at 515 Bypass Road in Brandenburg. Registration at 10:00 am, church service at 10:45 am. $10 donation - benefits Christian Motorcyclists Association Run for the Son. Lunch and scenic ride included. There will be a Dog Show at the Ampitheater by the River in Brandenburg Saturday June 3rd from 11am until 3pm. Judging begins at 11:30 am. Vendors $30/entry fee is $20 per dog. Reebok Spartan Race, the obstacle course race with a worldwide following, will be coming to the central Kentucky Army post for the first time July 22nd. The 3 mile course will be at Atcher Drop Zone in the training range complex, which features undulating topography along with Spartan's signature obstacles designed to provide physical nd metal challenges for athletes of all fitness levels.
